Parker River Community Preschool offers several Discovery
Classes per semester geared towards children ages 15 months
through 6 years. Classes are open to currently enrolled
students as well as toddlers, preschoolers, and their
parents from the surrounding community. Classes are a
great opportunity to extend your child’s preschool
learning or offer your child more opportunities to explore
a particular interest. If your child is not yet in our
Preschool, Discovery Classes offer a chance for you and
your child to socialize with other local families.
Our Discovery Classes are developed based on the same
philosophy as our Preschool Classrooms and encourage
relationships, hands-on exploration, and celebration
of the natural world. All classes are run by experienced
instructors and children’s learning and fun is
documented to share with family and friends.
Classes may run an entire semester (10-15 weeks) or
just as a one-time workshop. Classes may be multi-age
groupings or divided into separate sessions by age depending
on interest. Parents are encouraged to share their ideas
for future classes!

| After
School Studio - |
| This afternoon hands-on art
class is for children ages 15 months-6 years
old. An experienced instructor will guide
children in the exploration of a variety of
art media such as paint, wire, clay, watercolors,
recycled materials, and more. |

| YOGA for Tots
- |
| Lead by an experienced yoga instructor,
parents and their children will twist, bend,
and breathe their way through this class!
Yoga is a great way to exercise, relax and
connect with your child. |

| Creative Movement
- |
| Toddlers
and preschoolers wiggle, dance, and shimmy
while working on developmentally appropriate
skills such as self-expression, teamwork,
motor skills, and more. |

| |
| Little
Musicians - |
| Children join together to learn early music
skills such as rhythm and repetition while
having fun making music with a variety of
instruments. Music classes for young children
are great ways to strengthen early literacy
skills! |
| |
| Baby & Me
Playgroup - |
| Babies and their moms and dads
are invited to come together for stories,
songs, and socialization. This class is lead
by an experienced early childhood educator
who facilitates rich play and conversation
in a baby-proof, engaging classroom. |

*Discovery
Classes are held in our classrooms, outdoor
art studio, and playground space.
Parents are welcome to attend
classes with their children or remain on-site
through the duration of the class. |
