Parker River Community Preschool is a learning community of children, families, and teachers who listen to
and respect children’s thinking, creativity, and ways of learning! Our mission is to partner with parents to support
children’s growth during their toddler and preschool years with specific attention to young children’s journeys to
develop the following:

	· a sense of belonging and well-being within a community
	· an ability to communicate effectively and confidently in many ways
	· enthusiasm for persisting at challenging problems or tasks

Our thoughtful environment supports children as natural scientists, mathematicians, architects, artists, writers,
and more, and invites them to learn through discovery, exploration and play!

1.	We believe in the voices of children! Children are the primary constructors of their own knowledge and their ideas and passions are the most prominent voices in establishing classroom curriculum.
2.	We believe in living harmoniously with nature. We participate in ways to preserve our environment such as recycling, composting, and gardening.
3.	We believe that children have more than 100 ways to communicate and express themselves and we celebrate all of them.
4.	We believe children are valuable citizens promoting peace in our community. With friends, we practice teamwork, cooperation, problem solving, and collaboration.
5.	We believe in rich, meaningful, and purposeful curriculum experiences to support children’s inquiry and learning.
6.	We believe in the environment as the third teacher. We thoughtfully design our classrooms with natural, solid, and open-ended materials as props to inspire and guide learning.
